When a Grease Stain Does Not Come Out

Understanding oil removal beyond brand strength.

Grease stains are lipid-based soils. Water alone cannot remove them. Effective cleaning depends on surfactant concentration, temperature and mechanical action.

Three key variables

  • Correct detergent dosing
  • Sufficient water temperature
  • Proper load movement in the drum

Underdosing is common with concentrated detergents. If insufficient surfactant molecules are present, grease cannot be fully emulsified.

Warm water improves fat mobility. Overloading reduces mechanical friction.

Cleaning performance is a system result. When used correctly, a concentrated plant-based detergent can remove grease effectively without heavy additives.
